Cathedral extension made for "The King" movie.
The goal was to extend the plate into a cathedral. I modelled it in Zbrush using the Zmodeler brush and assembled it into Maya. I chose this workflow because I had little time for this task. There was a lot of complex pieces and it was way faster to modelled them in Zbrush compare to Maya.
Texture maps were tiling textures made in Photoshop. The boats were assets provided by the built department.
For the water I made a simple reflective shader in Clarisse, using simple noise. At this distance we couldn't really see any movement so it does the trick.
I am using simple geos kit-bashed for the far landscape, I then painted over it and add a sky DMP made with Photoshop.
Rendered with Clarisse and comp in Nuke.
